I am a staff engineer at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone Recording in Oakland.

JV’s dedication to the art of recording has inspired me for years.Tiny Telephone houses a 64 channel Neve 8068, an array of vintage instruments, microphones and unique recording gear.

Having access to these tools makes the creative process very exciting.

best house

I maintain a small overdub and mix space with my partner Beau Sorenson. We call it Best House.

The primary purpose for Best House is mixing, mastering, pre-production, editing, and light overdubs.

It also serves our own music projects: beaunoise and spacemoth.

Based around a vintage Neumann N20 console, ATC and Spendor monitors, too many synthesizers, and an ever-expanding collection of esoteric outboard gear, Best House is a great option for remote / unattended mixing, projects without the budget for additional studio time, last-minute sessions, or when Tiny Telephone isn’t available.
